Kahakai Elementary School celebrated May Day after a hiatus crowning the Queen, Tyra Lynn Kaimuloa Bates and King Kaimana Jordan Awa-Moss. The Royal Court was made up by Princes and Princesses representing the main Hawaiian Islands and were adorned in the island’s colors and flowers. The audience was treated to an afternoon of Hula as each grade level performed. The theme of the celebration was “Carrying on with the traditions and stories of the past”.
